YouControl is a Ukrainian IT company that develops services based on open data, in particular, an online analytical system for business analytics, competitive intelligence and counterparty verification.

The YouControl system contains data from more than 180 official and reliable sources and allows checking information about any company, legal entity or individual in Ukraine. It contains data for verification of companies and legal entities or individuals in foreign countries.

The company uses open data, state registers, foreign international open databases, and media data. The system identifies risks associated with court decisions, sanctions, property, invalid documents belonging to public figures (politically exposed persons), belonging to PEPs, missing persons, wanted persons,debtors, and corrupt or lustrated persons. The monitoring function reports changes daily according to data from official registers.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the YouControl team has launched volunteer initiatives: creating three meaningful and impactful products.
YouControl became a source of information that could not be hacked by constant DDoS attacks by russian hackers. Since the first days of the war, it has provided the necessary amount of free access to the system to representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the National Security and Defense Council, the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, and the NABU. In partnership with the Ministry of Defense, the KOLO Foundation and with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, YouControl developed the online platform “People for Ukraine”. The project unites and coordinates the actions of volunteers that provide for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Territorial Defense, especially the need for tactical equipment. There is also an opportunity to donate funds for the needs of defenders.

The second product was an application for instant verification of persons during wartime “TyKhto” It was created together with Artellence and with the support of the Security Service of Ukraine for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Territorial Defense, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard, state bodies, volunteers, and the municipal guard. They check thousands of people every day at checkpoints and just on the streets. Despite all the attention and caution, there is a risk of missing a dangerous person because there is no access to all the necessary data about a person in the field. Namely, the possible connections with crime, the Sabotage and reconnaissance groups and the “russian world”.

The third important product that the company has created is a new tool, the main purpose of which is to find russian and belarusian companies, assets and individuals trying to circumvent sanctions – RuAssets.

As part of the cooperation between the Ukrainian-Swiss Business Association (USBA), YouControl conducts joint training, provides association members with test access to the company’s systems and resources, helps Swiss business to understand the mechanism of cooperation with the Ukrainian business and verify its reliability, etc.

Association members can also test RuAssets by Youcontrol, designed to verify counterparties even more effectively and search for russian traces in the EU countries, particularly in Switzerland.

The tool is free for journalists, authorized representatives of state authorities and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.

The platform is of interest to international financial institutions. For example, banks that carry out international activities. After all, cooperation with sanctioned or sanctions-related persons can have critical consequences. The US government has already warned that any legal entity or individual operating with sanctioned companies or individuals will immediately face restrictions on their markets.

After the full-scale invasion of russia, there was a request to establish connections of companies with sanctioned individuals or legal entities from the russian federation. The largest number of sanctions in history has been imposed on russia. And the speed of their imposition continues to be incredibly high. Today, it is the biggest threat that needs to be monitored and checked regularly.
