This week, the new founded Ukrainian-Swiss Business Association (USBA) together with Swiss business representatives and Ukrainian government offices was honored to be hosted by the Ukrainian Embassy in the Swiss Confederation.
It was a big day for us: for the first time the Association’s objectives and services were officially introduced to the Swiss business community. The main topic of discussion was “The current state and future ways of developing economic cooperation between Switzerland and Ukraine.”
Our Ukrainian partners reported on a number of topics:
- the future plans in Ukrainian economy and legal environment (Artem Rybchenko, the Ambassador of Ukraine in the Swiss Confederation)
- investment possibilities and the opportunities Ukraine has to offer for the Swiss business community and outlined the Swiss companies that are currently operating in Ukraine (Diana Sidko, Deputy Executive Director of UkraineInvest)
- the role of Ukraine in the global trade and a great number of Ukrainian export opportunities (Tanya Miskova, Director of Export Promotion Office).
Afterwards there was an active discussion about the future of Ukrainian-Swiss Business Association, which gave the founders new inspirations. USBA is now ready to welcome its first members and make the Ukrainian-Swiss business relationship more pleasant and profitable.
Some of the key facts :
• The Swiss Confederation is among the top five countries investing in Ukrainian economy
• Several world-famous Swiss enterprises operate in Ukraine: Nestle, Acino, Risoil S.A., Syngenta, Geberit, Sika, Glastrosch
